a series of ceramic totems,
assembled from stacked wheel-thrown forms
the sections are pierced through their center,
stripped of their original utility,
and aligned along a central rod,
creating a column that reads simultaneously
as container and as sculpture.
made using a fine stoneware clay body,
surfaces are coated in black iron oxide
and black copper oxide rich glazes
and then high temperature fired
the surfaces carry subtle variations
from basalt spots inclusions,

these totems are not utilitarian vessels
and should be handled with care,
each piece is unique,
and exists as a sculptural presence
rather than domestic ware.
